SHS DANCE TEAMS TAKE MIAMI U BY STORM!
All 3 of our dance teams participated in UDA’s Summer Dance Camp on August 1-4 at Miami University in Oxford Ohio. It was a fun and informative time for all of our girls which taught them new skills while improving on the ones they already know.
While camp provides us with new material to inspire future choreography the main goal of our teams are to bond as individuals and as an organization. Seton Senior Lindsay McCarthy says “Camp is where I get to know the girls from our younger teams. Seeing the little Mini’s out there is so cute. Sometimes I can’t believe that I actually started there myself!” Our staff also uses the time to share coaching tips with each other and learn from the coaches of other teams attending.
This year’s camp was one filled with awards for all of our teams. The Varsity team took home 1st place in Home Routine and qualified for Nationals while our Junior High team took home a superior trophy and the Mini’s got the 110% award from the UDA Staff. All three teams received the coveted “Spirit Stick” all four days of camp and the Varsity team was honored to be presented the “Super Spirit Stick” on Sunday from one of the other attending teams. They then passed it on to another deserving team on Monday.
Camp marks the end of summer for our teams as we are now gearing up for our competition season which kicks off on October 3rd. We are all super excited about the year to come and can’t wait to get out on that competition floor once again!
