SETON’S FINEST!
The varsity dance team is made up of the best dancer’s from Seton High School. Originally formed in 1976 by the Sisters of Charity to build school spirit for Seton High School, they performed in parades and pep rallies. Since then they have grown into a competitive dance team, winning 11 State and National titles along the way.
This year the girls took on a new performance along with the Junior High and Mini teams. They performed at the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk at Sawyer Point in September. They were extremely honored to perform for this special occasion. The Varsity Highlighters then followed that up with a great competition season in 2007-08, placing 1st at the NDA Cincinnati Classic Championship. They competed at the AmeriDance Ohio Cheer & Dance Championships in Columbus in November and won 1st place in the POM division and 2nd in JAZZ. The Highlighters then went on to compete at the JamFest Winter Jam in Lexington receiving 1st place in JAZZ & 2nd place in POM and were named the School Dance Grand Champion with their JAZZ routine. They competed at the AmeriDance Mount Notre Dame Dance Classic and received 1st place in POM and 1st place in JAZZ. In February the Varsity team also received the National POM and JAZZ Championship titles (and jackets) at the Jamfest Super Nationals at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. They were even more thrilled to be named the school GRAND CHAMPION of the entire event.
The Varsity team also competed in the Small Varsity Pom and Jazz Divisions at the National Dance Team Championships in Orlando, Florida. They proudly made it to the Semi-Finals round with their pom routine against the best teams from all over the country.
Congratulations on a fantastic 07-08 season ladies.
