TOE TOUCH
When executing a toe touch you want to keep your back up and bring your legs up as opposed to dropping your chest towards your legs. Legs should release at your “natural turnout” as if you were sitting on the ground in a straddle position. Feet should be together on the prep and you should just rise to your toes for the prep versus jumping the prep. Toes should be pointed, legs turned out with knees back during the jump and then land with feet together at the end.

SPLITS
When sitting in splits, both R and L, you want to make sure the dancers knees are turned under on their back leg which should keep their hips square towards their front leg. Then sit up straight (shoulders back) with pointed toes. Once splits are mastered on one, the other or both legs you can work on improving flexibility by “over stretching” splits. To do this elevate the front and/or back foot with a book, box, chair, etc. depending on your current flexibility level.
